The population between the ages of 15 and 24 who neither study nor work represents approximately 34.274 young people. Of these, 18.213 are men (53,1%) and 16.061 women (46,9%).
These 34.274 young people have the following educational level:
a) 3.741 have university studies (10,9%). b) 690 with complete Technical Secondary Education (2%). c) 5.700 with complete academic secondary education (16,6%). d) 11.451 with incomplete secondary education (33,4%). e) 12.692 with Primary School or less (37%).

Salary Characteristics of the Labor Market in the Study Area
The average gross income of salaried workers in the study area was 426.301 colones ($750) per month during 2017. This salary is 35% lower than in the Central region of the country, 6% lower than in the Chorotega region, and 25% lower than the national average.

Job Offer in the Project's Area of Influence
In terms of labor force, the study area has an Economically Active Population (EAP) of 165.302 people, of which 159.673 are working and 5.629 are unemployed. Around 9.500 live less than 15 minutes from the project location, 26 are located between 15 and 30 minutes, 62 between 30 and 45 minutes, and around 67 between 45 and 60 minutes. By age group, the EAP under 30 years of age accounts for 33% of the total, 40% are between 30 and 45 years of age and 27% are over 45 years of age.
